A new website for SES Water

A composable website on Optimizely

The new SES Water website is now live and it’s the result of a serious team effort across the board – from Pennon and the true team.

SES Water supplies 160 million litres of clean water every day to more than 750,000 people across Surrey, Kent and South London, so getting this right really matters.

The ease of migration is the outcome of years of foundational work, particularly the last four, building a strong, scalable digital estate for Pennon Group on Optimizely.

Strategically, the analytics and KPI frameworks we established on South West Water and Bournemouth Water have proven their value - to the point that SES has adopted the same approach. That consistency is now paying off across the group as learnings and best practices can be measured, compared and shared across each water brand.

From a UX and design perspective, what’s been delivered here is effectively the blueprint for where Pennon is heading. There have been tweaks since launch, but the core system is flexible, scalable and doing exactly what it needs to do to provide an excellent customer experience across each brand in an efficient, consistent way.

The content and IA were a collaborative effort with true establishing core principles and Pennon’s digital team executing well structured and considered content that now means every key user need is available in two clicks or less.

On the technology side, standards are high. Site performance is exceeding Optimizely benchmarks, security is taken seriously, and when things need fixing – the team have delivered across the board.

The project is a brilliant example of what happens when strategy, design and tech all line up and are then backed by the consistency and effort needed to see it through properly.
