Making pets better and pet owners happier
Pet Drugs Online (PDOL) does what it says on the tin – it sells pet medication online, at up to 50% less than you’d pay at a vet. True was their digital partner between 2013 and 2018.
True’s partnership with PDOL initially focused on digital marketing activity, including paid search, affiliate and display. Our work worked brilliantly, with year on year increases in revenue and transactions.
However, the market was changing, with PDOL facing more and more ‘me-to’ competitors, and big new competition from Ocado and Pets at Home. They needed to up their game, fast.
We identified 3 main tasks to build competitive strength and ensure future success: defining a strong and credible brand; building a class-leading responsive website to accelerate growth; implementing a new ERP system to cope with increased orders.
We worked closely with the Pet Drugs team to develop a new brand proposition, logo and visual identity. Our work was validated by focus groups and online customer surveys. It got an overwhelmingly positive response.
Then we started work on the new site. User testing helped define the structure and information architecture. We created new content to explain the ordering process and reassure users about the prescription process. Impressive veterinary expertise helps reassure people their pets are in safe hands. Built on Kentico, the site allows customers to upload photos of pet prescriptions from their phone to make the whole process easier than ever.
A new ERP and seamless integration with Feefo, Sagepay and Paypal makes the customer journey from browsing to buying a breeze.
The site is optimised for search and sophisticated tracking is in place to optimise ecommerce performance. Results across the board are tail-waggingly good and our work for PDOL has won multiple awards.
We moved from a top 3 London agency because we knew we would get better service and world class digital design at True. We do. True Digital get digital, our market, our brand and our business. Simon Sutton, Managing Director Pet Drugs Online
