September signals back to school at True and we’ve got 3 major learning opportunities lined up for local sixth formers, nationwide undergrads and all of Team True.
On Friday 28th September, fifteen Year 12 and 13 students from Merchants Academy, Bristol will visit True to find out all about agency life.
They’ll takeover True’s social channels for the day and share their experiences as they find out how a digital marketing agency works, who does what, and dip into a series of True LIVE sessions with our client services, strategy, UX, creative, media and technology teams.
Advertising Unlocked is an IPA initiative that began last year, when 60 top agencies in 8 cities around the UK opened their doors to over 1,200 curious career hunters. We are delighted to be part of it, and look forward to finding some future True stars.
Here are just some of the highlights from the hugely successful 2018 Werkhouse event.
Now, hot on the heels of this year’s Werkhouse Weekend, the team is preparing to welcome 3 selected students from this year’s event for a whole week of learning.
The 3 students will visit a different design agency together each day, where they’ll focus on specific aspect of commercial design practice, with the expert guidance of experienced professionals.
This training week is not just a string of work experience studio visits or portfolio reviews, it’s a collaborative training package from some of the best design agencies from Bristol and Bath.
It will show the students how agencies must have relevant specialist expertise to compete, and how we work together in an increasingly collaborative industry where clients work with multiple agencies.
Like the Advertising Unlocked students, the Werkhouse three will creatively capture and share their experience and learning each day on the Werkhouse Instagram channel. Follow them here.
Also in its second year, our very own True University (aka Truni) kicks off the autumn term with an inspiring Freshers’ Week programme.
Truni sits at the heart of True’s Continuous Professional Development programme, making learning and development a natural part of life in the agency.
It’s a chance for us all to brush up on our work skills, learn new ones and share our personal passions (well, some of them) with our workmates.
This year’s eclectic programme includes everything from creative AI, the changing media landscape and how behavioural science is shaping customer experience to ethically sourced coffee tasting, the secrets of allotment holding and a brain-busting Truniversity Challenge.
As per last year, workshops, seminars, tutorials, lectures will all be run by True experts, partners and invited guests. And like all good Freshers’ Weeks, it will culminate in an almighty Truni bash.
