About the role

As part of the Agency Operations team you will be responsible for the day to day management of the Agency’s money – keeping track on what the Agency is earning and spending and reoporting directly to the CEO.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include: 

Financial reporting & compliance

  • Maintenance of full and accurate book of accounts and preparation of monthly management accounts.

  • Managing monthly payroll, pension contributions, life assurances, employee expenses.

  • Ensure timely and accurate billing of all client fees, including third party costs to be recharged.

  • Accounts payable – posting of supplier invoices, bi-monthly payment runs, posting of cash book, management of company credit cards.

  • Debt and cash management – ensure timely collection of client fees, reporting on aged debt and escalating risk where appropriate

  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and annual R&D return.

Financial planning & commercial

  • Maintenance of P&L and cash flow forecasts, ensuring these are updated at least fortnightly to be shared with CEO and Agency Management team.

  • Preparation of monthly reporting pack for Agency Management Team. Reporting on KPIs and variance to Plan/Forecast to provide actionable insights.

  • Work collaboratively with Client Service and New Business teams, providing commercial guidance and support with client contracts, fees, pricing, and client profitability reports.

  • Working with Operations team to oversee finance and workflow management systems.

About you

  • Relevant and demonstrable experience as Finance Manager, ideally within the Creative/Agency sector, if not certainly in the wider professional services sector.

  • Prior experience of producing end to end management accounts, transaction processing, VAT returns, payroll.

  • Prior commercial experience with respect to utilisation, pricing and overhead analysis and general partnering with management teams.

  • Prior experience of forecasting and budgeting.

  • Confident communicator, and able to bring people with you (but not afraid to challenge key stakeholders and wider team when appropriate).

  • Be entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, energised.

This role is part time at 4 days or 30 hours a week on an 8-month FTC.
