What We’ve Been Looking At This Month…

At True we’re suckers for a clever idea; here’s a few that we’ve been impressed with recently.

iAds

Advertising is continually evolving. We already use real-time dynamic advertising to target our clients’ customers, and we’re looking into how we can use more content-rich formats to deliver sales. Apple’s iAd platform appears promising; take a look at this Toy Story 3 demo, and tell us you aren’t excited!

Finger Painting on the iPad

You might remember David Hockney having a go at painting on the iPhone; this is the next generation.

Levi’s Social Shopping

A few weeks ago Facebook introduced the Open Graph, and allowed users to ‘Like’ any content on the web. Levi’s have already integrated this into their online store, and it looks like the next logical step in e-commerce; whilst existing sharing buttons are often ignored, this deep integration with social networks (especially as we’re all normally logged-in) promises to make online shopping a truly shared experience.

Augmented Reality Banner Ad

A great (and topical) idea for incorporating augmented reality into an advert. Display creative is becoming much more engaging, and we’re seeing a move away from the simple blanket banner coverage of old. With a bit of luck we’ll see a whole lot more of these in the next few months…

Amnesty International – Death to the Death Penalty Ad

Something a bit different to end with, a simple but moving advert by Amnesty International. Designed to provoke discussion, it conveys a strong opinion on a difficult subject very elegantly.
