The True team get wheely, wheely excited when it comes to biking. So with the week-long celebration that is Team Green Britain Bike Week coming up, we thought we’d share some of the things we’ve got planned.
Super-fit designer Rich will be donning the full face helmet and shin pads in readiness to tackle the infamous “death run” downhill route in the Malvern Hills for the first time in several years.
It’s a scary stretch of high speed near vertical drop-offs and extremely tight technical wooded sections that heads straight down the eastern side of the beacon. Rich will be accompanied by his mates Tommy, Beaver and Arge, whose brother punctured a lung and broke a leg on the same route. Amateur.
Meanwhile in Wales, the intrepid Mr Jones will be doing the summit trail in Afan, wearing unfeasibly tight shorts with padded gusset. Last time Tim attempted this gruelling 5 hours of cross country/downhill, he dislocated his shoulder. Amateur.
Back in Bristol, the eagle eyed amongst you might be lucky enough to spot Carl and his other free rider chums jumping off stupidly tall things around the city centre.
Ollie is hoping the sun stays out so he can take advantage of the Bristol to Bath cycle route and help his inventor mate with his top secret, highly confidential, genius cycling invention. Say no more.
Ben will be covered in oil and grease trying to catch up with all those jobs he’s been putting off. Replace cone bearings / fit new crank / clean & re-fit headset / true rear wheel… the list goes on. To keep him motivated, he’s put together a bike-themed play list on Spotify. Check it out!
Finally, if you’d like to get involved in some cycling action yourself this Team Green Britain Bike Week, there are events going on all over the country. Find the one nearest you.
Happy cycling!
